You can make it easier for people to find your blog on search engines like Google and Bing by:

  • Listing your blog on search engines
  • Using keywords throughout your site so it shows up higher in search results

List your blog on search engines


  1. Sign in to Blogger.
  2. Click the blog to update.
  3. In the left menu, click Settingsand thenBasic.
  4. Under "Basic," next to "Privacy," click Edit.
  5. Choose Yes to:
    • List your blog on Blogger
    • List your blog on search engines
  6. Click Save changes. 

SET search engines Meta tags

  1. Sign in to Blogger.
  2. Click the blog to update.
  3. In the left menu, click Settingsand thensearch preferenses
  4. Write your blog description meta tag 150 char max
  5. Click Save changes.

Add keywords to your post and page titles

  • Keep your titles around 60 characters long. A short and concise title will be more readable for users and won’t get cut off. then set your Post Meta tag description
  • On your post editor:
  • 1. Post setings
  • 2. Search Descriprion (Try to be 150 char max)
  • 3. Save.


Add headers

Tell search engines what your post is about with headers like H1, H2, H3 and more.
  1. Sign in to Blogger.
  2. Click the blog you want to work on.
  3. In the left menu, click Posts.
  4. Choose the post you want to work on and click Edit.
  5. Highlight the text you want to make into a header.
  6. In the menu bar next to "Normal," click the Down arrow Down Arrow.
  7. Choose the type of heading you want.

Make your images searchable

To make your images searchable, and accessible for visually impaired readers, you can add a short description of the image, or alt text, and a title.

  4. Under "Crawlers and Indexing," next to "Custom robots header tags," click Edit.
  5. Choose Yes.
  6. Check noindex.
  7. Click Save changes.

  1. Sign in to Blogger.
  2. Click the blog you want to work on.
  3. In the left menu, click Posts.
  4. Click the post you want to hide.
  5. In the menu bar, click Link.
  6. Select Add ‘rel=nofollow’ attribute.

    1. Sign in to Blogger.
    2. Click the blog to update.
    3. In the left menu, click Posts.

    5. On the right, under "Post Settings," click Permalink.
    6. Choose Custom Permalink.
    7. Add the URL you want to use.
    8. Click Done.

    Create a redirect for a URL

    You can redirect URLs from your blog to new posts or pages.
    1. Sign in to Blogger.
    2. Click the blog you want to work on.
    3. In the left menu, click Settingsand thenSearch preferences.
    4. Under "Errors and redirections," next to "Custom redirects," click Edit.
    5. Add the deleted URL and the URL you want to point it to. If the original article was deleted, select "Permanent."
    6. Click Save.
    7. Click Save changes.
